Anna, 54, was born and raised at the Fontanelle.
Her grandmother and her mother brought her up by telling her about the Cemetery and, through the strength of their example, passing on the importance of caring for and honouring the dead. In her lives a faith in the afterlife stronger than any earthly bond.
What the Fontanelle Cemetery means to her
Whenever she happened to return to the Fontanelle Cemetery, she carried only this with her: devotion, emotion and respect. That is why, if she had to explain to a stranger what this place is, she could only do so by taking their hand and bringing it to her chest.
