His journey into the bowels of the earth begins at the age of eight, when for fun he starts lowering himself into some country wells. He has never stopped going down since.

Deeply fascinated by the mastery with which nature shapes caves, cisterns and tunnels, for him the descent has never been just a job, but an inexhaustible source of research and discovery.
In over thirty years he has inspected around seven hundred underground cavities in Naples, producing surveys, maps and diagrams of the city’s thousand-year history.
